Horsebox cleaning is not standard vehicle cleaning. The horse transport area requires biosecurity-grade sanitisation with products that are safe for equines — not general-purpose detergents or bleach. We use equine-specific disinfectants throughout the horse area, and keep cleaning chemistry completely separate between zones.

We arrive with specialist horsebox cleaning equipment and equine-safe biosecurity products. We do not need access to your yard hose or power — we carry our own water. Horses can remain in their stables throughout.

Horse area first 1–2 hrs

The transport area is worked through systematically. Rubber matting lifted, floor pressure-washed and disinfected. Walls, partitions, ramp and all horse-contact surfaces cleaned with equine-safe biosecurity disinfectant. Odour treated with horse-safe neutraliser.

Living quarters and exterior 1–3 hrs

Living quarters cleaned through — cab, kitchen, bathroom and lounge. Exterior washed, wheels cleaned and chassis rinsed. A final walk-through with you confirms the standard. Ready for loading.

What biosecurity products do you use in the horse area?
We use equine-approved biosecurity disinfectants rated against common equine pathogens — safe for use in horse transport areas and on rubber matting. We do not use bleach, ammonia or household cleaning products in any area that will be in contact with horses. Product data sheets are available on request.
Do you lift the rubber matting to clean underneath?
Yes — we lift all rubber matting to clean and disinfect the floor beneath. This is important because bacteria, ammonia and organic material accumulate under the matting and can cause hoof and respiratory issues in transported horses. The matting is cleaned both sides before being replaced.
Can you come to a competition venue?
Yes — we attend horse trials, county shows, equestrian centres and showgrounds. We clean horseboxes between classes or at the end of the competition day. Contact us in advance to arrange access and confirm the venue and timing.
How often should a horsebox be professionally cleaned?
For horseboxes in regular competition or transport use, a professional clean every 4–6 weeks is recommended for the horse area. The living quarters and exterior can be done every 2–3 months or as required. Many of our customers set up a monthly clean on a standing schedule.
Do you clean horse trailers as well as lorries?
Yes — we clean all types of equine transport: small horse trailers (single or double), horsebox lorries and large luxury coaches. Pricing reflects the size and access requirements. Horse area only, exterior only or full packages are available.
What do I need to provide?
Very little — just basic vehicle access and the horses moved to stables or fields. We bring our own water supply, cleaning equipment and all chemicals. We do not require a yard hose, power supply or any facilities from your side.
