01 — The Service What's included

60 to 95% defect removal. Measured, inspected, sealed.

Paint correction is not detailing by feel — it's a measured process. Paint thickness is read panel by panel, defects are inspected under direct lighting before and after, and the result is verified before any sealant goes on. Two tiers: single-stage for lightly affected cars, multi-stage for serious defects.

  • Iron & tar decontamination — full chemical decontamination before polishing
  • Clay bar — removes bonded surface contamination
  • Paint thickness measurement — every panel checked
  • Inspection lighting — defects mapped before and after
  • Machine polishing — single or multi-stage depending on tier
  • IPA wipe-down — panel inspection before sealant
  • Polymer sealant — applied to corrected paintwork
  • Stone chips or deep scratches — require bodywork/touch-up repair
  • Interior cleaning — add at booking
  • Ceramic coating — book as a follow-up or combined visit
  • Panel respray or bodywork repair
Want lasting protection after correction? Add our ceramic coating from £150 — applied immediately after correction for the best possible bond.

02 — The visit How it works

Measured, corrected, inspected — no guessing.

Every stage of paint correction is objective and measurable. We don't guess — we read the paint depth, we map the defects and we verify the result before moving on.

i

Decontamination ~90 min

Iron and tar removers applied, clay bar used across all panels. The paint must be chemically and physically clean before polishing — contamination under a pad causes further defects.

ii

Paint thickness & defect mapping ~30 min

Every panel measured with a paint thickness gauge. Defects identified and mapped under inspection lighting. The polishing plan is agreed based on what the paint can safely take.

iii

Machine correction ~3–5 hrs

Single-stage: one cut-and-polish stage removes 60–80% of light defects. Multi-stage: cutting compound followed by finishing polish removes 85–95% of defects. Each panel inspected in direct lighting before moving on.

iv

IPA wipe, seal & inspect ~45 min

IPA wipe removes polish oils so the true finish is visible. Polymer sealant applied. Final full-car inspection under lighting together — we show you the before and after on representative panels.

My black Audi had swirl marks from years of automated car washes. Multi-stage correction made it look brand new — I could see my reflection without distortion for the first time in five years.

Absolutely transformative. The technician was meticulous — worked panel by panel in direct lighting and the result was extraordinary. Followed up with ceramic coating the next day.

Worth every penny. My Range Rover looked embarrassing in direct sunlight — now it looks like a demo vehicle. The improvement is night and day.

05 — FAQ Common questions

Everything we get asked before a first booking.

Can't find your answer? Call 0800 208 8885 — we usually pick up within an hour during opening hours.

What's the difference between single-stage and multi-stage correction?
Single-stage uses one polishing stage (cut compound) and removes approximately 60–80% of light to medium defects. Multi-stage uses a heavy cutting compound followed by a finer finishing polish and removes 85–95% of defects — used for heavily swirled, marred or oxidised paint.
How do I know which stage I need?
At booking, we discuss your paint condition and concerns. For cars with occasional swirling visible in sunlight, single-stage is usually sufficient. For cars that look noticeably dull, heavily swirled or have marring across multiple panels, multi-stage delivers the best result.
Can paint correction remove all scratches?
Swirl marks, light scratches, water spots and oxidation — yes. Scratches that penetrate below the clear coat (those with a white or silver base you can feel with a fingernail) require bodywork repair, not polishing.
Should I add ceramic coating after correction?
Yes — correction removes defects, but an unprotected surface will attract new contamination quickly. Our ceramic coating is best applied immediately after correction, before any new contamination lands on the paint.
How long does paint correction last?
Correction is permanent — defects that are removed don't come back unless new damage occurs. The polymer sealant applied afterwards lasts 3–6 months; ceramic coating (optional) lasts 1–5 years.
Do I need to do anything before the appointment?
No — we handle the full decontamination and wash process. Arrive with the car as it is. We need to work in a covered or shaded area where possible — a garage or shaded driveway is ideal.
